The Colombia Study
In 1972 Colombia Records commissioned a study called the
Study of Soul Music Environment which was carried out by Harvard Business
School at Harvard University
They kept this study a secret for 50 years and have only
started to release the data in books like Power 101 the Harvard report on Soul
Music and the American Dream and another book is entitled the Anatomy of the
Record Industry Company, and these books deal with the report that Harvard commissioned
on behalf of the record industry
